Wow: We now know what the endboss wants - and the fans are angry
The goals of the end boss In world of Warcraft were revealed. But the motivation of the Charter Master disappoints many players.
In World of Warcraft, everything has been around the Shadow lands and the Chairman, the Jailer or Oval for over a year. He is the great villain with the master plan and the secret ambitions, which no player has understood so far. Now the PTR of Patch 9.2 is available at the end of eternity and gives first insights into the true motivations of the Oberböseweight.
But who has expected a complex, profound character here — which is likely to be disappointed. Because from the Dungeon Journal pointing out what the Charter Master actually wants.
What does the champion master want? There's been aware of it for many months. Again and again it was meant that he wants to rewrite the reality. This has been quite openly formulated, but at least for the hope that the Chairman actually wants to bring about positive changes. This hope has now been eliminated by a first summary in the Dungeon Journal, because there is the fighting:
Sausage, the fallen oracle: Under the control of Oval, Sausage leads the sloppy into the battle to conquer the forges of the leverage. With their power, the Chairman will be able to create an eternity of agony. The Chairman: For millennia, Oval has manipulated forces throughout the universe to ultimately lead him to this power position. With his final step, the heroes of Zeroth combine to fight a cosmic being, which never had to suffer a defeat.
This is how the community reacts: In the Subreddit of World of Warcraft, these boss descriptions are discussed wild and the predominant tenor seems to be negative. For many, it is incomprehensible why the Chairman is such a stumped character without meaningful motivation. He seems to be a bad character who just does evil to the wickedness.
The Cherkermeister is the stupid attempt of traditional I want to master the world bending. He has no personality, no story, there is nothing to him at all. As soon as his action strand (if you can call this so), he will completely forget and never reappear.

Abel why? What is his motivation, apart from the fact that he was thrown in the slued? Why was he thrown in the Should? Is he really literally just an ass? Death Swing had a better reason to hunt the planet in the air and that did not make sense at that time.

ES feels like the story writers just had given up. You just have to come from point a to point b on the stupidest possible way, ignoring all relationships that have characters to each other and then still writing the stupid, the biggest clichés that you can come up with.

At the same time, many players interfere with the fact that the Chairman should be the being that derives the skills in the Warcraft Universe quasi since ever. He is the alleged mastermind behind the countless events of the last extensions, backing to the attacks of the Legion and events from the Warcraft strategy games.
So writes Xians :
Their said I hate more than anything else that Oval should have been the great evil, which is now ruining 20 years of Lore — for what? I would prefer to look at Game of Thrones 10 times a bit, although I know how it ends instead of allowing them to continue to change all the meanings of some of the most important warcraft characters.
The worst is, you could work on it and do it at least halfway interesting, but you did not manage to create a convincing character or at least a damned Saturday morning WWE-cartoon villain. But instead, he stands [The Chairman] on the shoulders of existing characters and the story, crooks those directly on his head and says, You see, I was all the time.
Warcraft, the story, ended with Legion and everything that came after that is only fan fiction of people who do not like Warcraft at all. I would rather have it that you reset the game completely with a journey 30,000 years in the future, so you can no longer touch current characters.
Also criticized is the description of the boss fight against the Chairman. Above all, the fact that he had never suffered a defeat will make a mockery. So asks a Reddit post with just under 2,000 up votes:
Bases Oval's whole identity not on the fact that he was defeated and banished in the Should? Is already, people, do you even try it?
Maybe there is more? Despite all the negative mood, however, it would be possible that the Chairman explains his motivations a bit more precisely — for example in the final fight. The following cinematic is also likely to offer one or another insight. Last but not least, in many a player, the hope that Blizzard parts of the story on the PTR still keep hidden and only changes the corresponding passages together with the release of the patch. This occasionally occurred in the past in some details and made for some larger revelations. Nevertheless, the whole championship theme can be confidential that Blizzard is the construction of a convincing adversary of the Chairman rather not so well suited, as with other badges. How do you see it? Maybe you like the Chairman as an opponent? Or is he much too monotonous and boring?
