That s how the switch OLED debuted in Japan
The last week was a full of first level releases, where we also saw the arrival of Nintendo Switch Oled . Although we already know how it went to this console in regions as a UK, many were waiting for Famitsu to share their usual information, in order to know the performance of this new model in Japan, and Finally we have this information .
According to Famitsu, Switch OLED debuted with 138,409 units sold in Japan . It is important to mention that this information corresponds to those seen between October 8 and 10. In comparison, the original switch sold 330,637 consoles in its launch, while the Lite version arrived with 177,936. Although these numbers may seem low, Nintendo, as well as Sony and Microsoft, is being facing distribution problems in this market for issues related to the pandemic.
On the other hand, Metroid Dread debuted in the first place sold in the software with 86,798 units sold . In second and third place is FAR CRY 6 , which managed to move a total of 50.905 of copies between its version of PS4 and PS5.

Considering that Japan has always been a strong territory for Nintendo, it is rare to see that Switch Oled did not sell as much as expected. However, this console is arriving at a difficult time for all companies, since manufacturing and distributing some hardware piece is complicated. Similarly, many people already have a type of switch, so giving another leap may not be as attractive at the moment.
